TBCA and World Vision provide Tuberculosis knowledge for community school students

Thailand Business Coalition on AIDS (TBCA) has joined with World Vision in providing Tuberculosis knowledge to primary school students in Bangkok’s Samiennaree and Laksi communities. About 400 children in Prathom 3-5 from Wat Samiennaree and Wat Laksi attended a two-hour training to educate them on Tuberculosis prevention (TB). They showed keen interest to answer questions concerning how TB can happen, symptoms of people with TB, and what to do when infected with TB virus.

The objective of TB training in communities is to create greater awareness and a good understanding on the importance of TB prevention at home, at school and in the communities. TBCA also distributed a set of HIV/AIDS and TB manuals to all the young participants and the schools for self-learning after the training. The student’s were also encouraged to think of how to help communicate to people in their communities by writing an essay and drawing pictures. In addition to the knowledge provision, TBCA and World Vision have given them souvenirs including T-shirts, pens, and notebooks, as well as UHT drinks and a key chain.
