Look back in 2009:

• April – TripleOne Somerset awarded Energy Smart office

TripleOne Somerset, one of Pacific Star’s managed properties was awarded as one of the Energy Smart building by the National Environment Agency and the Energy Sustainability of the National University of Singapore (NUS).  This programme gives recognition to best performing buildings which have incorporated energy efficient technologies and reduced energy wastage.  TripleOne Somerset was formerly Singapore Power Building when it was acquired on 20 Feb 2008.

• August – Noon Square Officially opens with a private ceremony

27 August 2009 marked the official celebration of Noon Square’s Opening in Korea, hosted by Mr Frank Rainer Vaessen, as his capacity as Chairman of AREIF and Dr Kim Dai-Young, Chief Executive Officer of Pacific Star Korea. It was graced by Guest of Honour - Singapore Ambassador to Korea,
Noon Square (formerly known as Avatar Mall) underwent extensive enhancement and repositioning work since its acquisition by AREIF in 2007.
• August - Pacific Star launches Pavilion KL Residences Tower 1 for sale in Singapore

Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken AB (SEB) through its subsidiary IMMO Pavilion held an exclusive launch of Pavilion KL Residences Tower 1 on the 29th and 30th August 2009.  Pavilion Residences comprises 368 newly-completed residences in 2 towers of 50- and 43-storeys each. They sit on top of the seven-storey Pavilion Kuala Lumpur shopping mall, which is part of a world-class 12-acre integrated development that includes a 19-storey signature office tower and a 200-room luxury hotel, Raffles Kuala Lumpur. Underscoring its international appeal, Pavilion Residences Tower 2 was completely sold out when it was launched in 2007 to owners from 25 nations.

Pavilion Kuala Lumpur has been awarded the prestigious FIABCI Prix d’Exellence Award 2009 for Retail, housing the flagship stores of some of the world’s finest brands. Pacific Star Asset Management Pte Ltd remains the appointed asset manager for its residential towers. 

• October - The Pacific Star Group contract with Novaland

Pacific Star signed a successful deal with Vietnam property developer Novaland at the press conference held in Vietnam on 21st October 2009. Pacific Star will be responsible for overall asset concept, marketing development and performance of Sunrise City Shopping Mall.  The property is a 700,000 square foot retail complex which is expected to be ready by late 2012, is part of the mixed use development known as Sunrise City which is located in the new urban town Him Lam Tan Hung.  Once completion in 2013, the project will be comprise a mega mall and 14 luxury residential/office towers spread over five hectares.

• October - Capital Square awarded with BCA Green mark

Pacific Star is proud to announce that one of our managed properties, Capital Square has been award the BCA Green mark.  The BCA Green Mark Scheme was launched in January 2005 as an initiative to drive Singapore’s construction industry towards more environment-friendly buildings. It is intended to promote sustainability in the built environment and raise environmental awareness among developers, designers and builders when they start project conceptualisation and design, as well as during construction.  BCA Green Mark also provides a meaningful differentiation of buildings in the real estate market. It is a benchmarking scheme which incorporates internationally recognised best practices in environmental design and performance. 

Capital Square was acquired for SGD505 million in an asset securitisation deal that was completed in December 2002.
